Sarah Rosalee Miller 1909 – 2007
In Loving Memory of Sarah Rosalee Miller born March 6, 1909 in Cleveland, TN. She passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2007. Rosalee Ramsey moved with her family to a little farm in Checotah, OK in 1923. She helped care for her brothers and sisters on the family farm. She met Cecil Miller and they married on November 19, 1932 in Texanna, OK at the First Free Will Baptist Church. Cecil and Rosalee were blessed with the birth of two sons Don and Cecil Miller. Rosalee was a teacher and cook at Foster View Oklahoma, later changed to Central High, where she was also involved with holiday activities as piano player. After twenty-five years she retired and was missed by all. After her retirement she went to work at Green Thumb. She was also an active member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Checotah. Rosalee is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Naomi Ramsey, husband Cecil Miller, and her son Cecil Miller Jr. Also preceding her in death were her brothers Wayman, Clarence, Carl and four sisters Ada Mae, Fannie and twins Clora and Clara.
Rosalee is survived by her son Donald W. and wife Rolana Miller of OK City; six grandchildren Vickie Bostic of Sand Springs, OK, Donna and husband Robert King, Billy and wife Brenda Miller, and Deion Miller all of Checotah, and Donald Jr. and wife Ruth Miller of Sand Springs and Shannon and husband Jimmy Durrett of Checotah; eighteen great grandchildren Shane and wife Paula Miller of Checotah, Kristy Bostic of Sand Springs, Ricky Browning II and Kyla Clay of Checotah, Lindsey and husband Greg Eubanks of Cleveland, OK, Robby King, Tara and husband Wes Vandiver all of Checotah, Steven Bostic of Sand Springs, Preston King of Checotah, Emily Miller and Chad Miller both of Sand Springs, Baylor Butler, Alyssa Alexander, Jesse Alexander, Lennes Miller, Ashley Coones, Gavin Cox, Derian Durrett and April Durrett all of Checotah; eight great-great grandchildren Enrico Garcia, Anthony Miller, Shallee Miller and Jada Vandiver all of Checotah, Noah Eubanks of Cleveland, Caleb Allen Eubanks of Sand Springs, Paysley Vandiver and Avery Carson Browning both of Checotah; three siblings Ruth Smith of Mustang, OK, Jim Ramsey of Cleveland, TN and Billy Ramsey of Florida; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m., Wednesday, January 10, 2007 in the First Free Will Baptist Church, Checotah with Rev. Larry Haggard and Rev. Dan Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery with Ricky Browning, Enrico Garcia, Robby King, Steven Bostic, Preston King and Shane Miller serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Chad Miller, Baylor Butler and Anthony Miller.
