— Daisy E. Kirkland, 98, of Muskogee, was called to her eternal home, early Tuesday, January 16, 2007. She was born August 14, 1908 in Putman County, West Virginia, the daughter of Amos & Delila (Buzzard) Carpenter.
Mrs. Kirkland was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and made many beautiful quilts. She always loved babies and cherished the times she was able to play with them, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Kirkland was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Muriel Kirkland and seven sisters. She is survived by her three children, Louise White, of Muskogee and Betty Glambin and Wanda Dusenberry, both of Ohio; twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Tava Nimmo of Georgia and Lena McKinley of West Virginia; her brother, Carl Carpenter of West Virginia and numerous nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
A funeral service for Mrs. Kirkland will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 18, 2007 at the Bradley Belltower Chapel with Reverend Rex Wilkinson officiating. Interment will follow in Citizens Cemetery, Fort Gibson, OK.
