Lorenzo “Junebug” Washington, Jr. 1949-2007
Mr. Lorenzo “Junebug” Washington, Jr. was born October 4th, 1949 to Lorenzo and Willie Tolliver Washington, Sr., in Fresno, CA. He was the third of three children born to this union. In 1951, his mother Willie, located back to her hometown, of Red Bird, OK where Lorenzo received his formal education. Reaching adulthood, “Junebug” entered the work force. His work career extended to several states, such as Wichita, KS, Fresno and Los Angeles, CA. He moved to Tulsa, OK making his permanent home there. On January 18th, 2007, he quietly left us.
The family preceding him in death were his father, Lorenzo Washington Sr. and other relatives. The family he leaves behind to cherish their memories of him include his mother, Willie Washington, of McAlester, OK. One daughter, Tonya Washington, one brother, Donald L. Washington of Tulsa, OK and one sister, Loretta Middleton, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives will dearly miss him..
A service of remembrance will be held today, January 25th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ragsdale Funeral Center “Chapel of Respect”, with Rev. Nelson Ross, pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Tullahassee, OK, serving as officiant.
