Noella Mossey 0943-2007
Noella Mossey entered eternal life on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at her home in Checotah, OK. Neolla entered this life on Tuesday, December 28, 1943 in Warner, Oklahoma to Robert and Thelma Pitts Fillmore. She grew up in Warner and graduated from Warner High School in 1961. Noella entered the Army and was stationed at Ft. Myer, VA, and worked at the Pentagon as a secretary. While working at the Pentagon, she met Richard Mossey and they were married Saturday, July 17, 1965. She received an honorable discharge in 1966. They lived in Vermont where Noella worked in a clothing factory. Richard and Noella moved back to Warner in 1979.
In 1980 she went to work at Archer Cleaners in Muskogee for twenty years as a a jean presser, retiring in 2000. Noella loved talking with her friends and traveling. She attended First Baptist Church of Warner.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Richard in October 2001. She is survived by her son, Richard Mossey and his wife Laura; granddaughter, Carey Mossey all of Checotah, sisters, Ruth Gray of Kansas City, KS and Georgia Velduizen of Lawton, OK and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 27,2007 at Warner Memorial Cemetery, Warner, Oklahoma with Dr. Don Jones of First Baptist Church, Muskogee officiating. The family of Noella Mossey entrusted services to John & Kim Garrett of Garrett-Smith Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 311 S.W. Second St. Checotah, OK 74426, 918-473-2244.
