Sula Robertson of Locust Grove guides her Clydesdale horse along York Street on Monday afternoon. The horse-drawn historic hearse led a funeral procession for James Clarence Jaynes, who loved horses and being in the outdoors. The hearse is owned by Rodney Mattox, the pastor of Oasis Community Church, said Gary Rodgers, the funeral director and owner of Cornerstone Funeral Home. Rodgers said he had never seen anything like the hearse in his 37 years in the funeral business.
