Sweetwater, a familybluegrass/country gospel music group, will perform at 7 p.m. tonight at the Plumb Theater. Sweetwater was formed about three years ago, according to a media release. The members have been raised in church and encouraged by their parents to use their talents for God, the release states. Over the past three years they have sung and played their style of music in churches, outdoor functions, and other family-friendly events across Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, and Alabama. Sweetwater recently recorded its first CD with South Forty Productions in Flynn, Texas. Grandmother Debbie is the spokesperson and plays piano for the group and sings backup vocals. Dad Barnie plays rythmn guitar and sings backup vocals. Mom Debbie plays upright bass, sings backup vocals and sets up the bookings. Of the daughters, Kristen, 18, plays fiddle, mandolin, and sings lead; Kaney, 14, plays drums, mandolin, sings harmony and lead; Madison, 11, plays spoons, mandolin, and sings harmony; and Lily, 7, is still developing her musical instrument and sings harmony. The Plumb Theatre is 5 1/2 miles east of Eufaula on Oklahoma 9 at Longtown. It is a family-friendly theater with no smoking or alcohol allowed. Concessions available. Information: (918) 452-2020.
