Coalition forms to help young moms By Keith PurtellPhoenix Staff Writer MAP offers a day care center for children of high school students so they can continue their education. The program also teaches skills in parenting and independent living. Cook said MAP normally helps between 30 and 45 students each year.
“It would be great to involve more people in the coalition,” she said. “We could offer more than health and nutrition. These girls need assistance with housing and help in the legal system when they need to get custody set up.”
