Ozark, Ark., driver Clay Julian overtook Haskell’s Danny Womack with eight laps remaining in the 25 lap Harold Pickard 360 Modified Memorial race to take home the victory and $1,000 paycheck.
The win marks his first 360 Modified win of the 2009 season at Outlaw Motor Speedway.
Womack, the co-owner of the track, took the lead on the second lap after starting on the outside pole. Julian on the other hand started 11th and snaked his way into the top three by lap nine.
Muskogee’s Dale Richardson ripped off his sixth Hobby Stock A-Feature win of the 2009 season, and his third in a row after holding off Colton Dunlap in the process.
Alma, Ark.’s Lonnie Robins slipped by previous week’s winner Jared Russell of Muskogee with a few laps remaining to pick up his first career Modified A-Feature win. Chelsea’s Joe Duvall looked to have the win in the bag at the halfway mark but his car slowed with five laps to go, giving Russell and Robins the opening they needed.
In a show-stopping finish, Pure Stock points leader Jason Ward of Tahlequah picked up his first Pure Stock A-Feature win of the season even though he took the checkered flag sliding sideways.
Involved in a four car altercation on the final lap of the 15 lap feature race, Muskogee’s Justin Sellars and Ward touched exiting turn four on the last lap. Ward was forced into Fort Gibson’s Dalton Ragsdale, who was battling for the lead over the last five laps with Ward and Sellars, sending Ragsdale into the front straightaway wall.
As his car jumped on top of the concrete retaining wall, then back to the track, he was struck by another car. He was transported via ambulance to Muskogee Medical Center but was later released.
Sellars took the win but it was later removed and awarded to Ward after postrace inspection.
