Muskogee Fraternal Order of Eagles to host Oklahoma fall conference

The Muskogee Fraternal Order of Eagles (F.O.E.) 4042 will host more than 75 Eagles from across the state for the Oklahoma State Fall Conference on Friday and Saturday at the Muskogee Aerie, 4090 Chandler Road.

During the conference, a silent auction and a 50/50 drawing will be held and tickets will be sold to benefit the Oklahoma State President’s charity, the International Eagles’ Diabetes Research Center. Those attending also will learn about ways to improve their Aeries and auxiliaries and help their local communities while meeting new Eagle members.

“Our Aerie is proud to invite the Eagle members in Oklahoma to our great city of Muskogee,” said Sarah Powers, Muskogee Auxiliary secretary. “We hope all those in attendance receive the information they need to help their local aeries.”

Muskogee Mayor John Tyler Hammons will attend along with Eagles’ dignitaries Elwin “Bud” Haigh, grand aerie trustee, Helen “Penny” Skinner, grand madam inside guard, and Steve Powers and Carol Burch, state worthy and madam presidents.

The Fraternal Order of Eagle is partnering with The University of Iowa in a five-year, $25-million fundraising project that will culminate with The Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center at The University of Iowa. The Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center will be a dedicated center for diabetes research within the Institute for Biomedical Discovery Building at The University of Iowa. Money raised by the Fraternal Order of Eagles will go directly to medical research.

Muskogee Eagles were instituted in the local community in 1982. The Muskogee Aerie and Auxiliary have grown to approximately 175 and 90 members from the local community, respectively. The Muskogee Eagles supports the local community and follow the International Eagles’ motto of “People Helping People” by donating more than $20,000 to local and national charities such as those for children in need and disabled children.
