BREAKING NEWS: Man on way to hospital with gunshot wound

Warner Police Chief Terry Thompson shot a man in the leg to prevent him from committing suicide, an official said.

Thompson shot the man to keep him from taking his life using a knife, said Richard Slader, Muskogee County District Attorney’s investigator.

Warner Police received a call about a suicidal subject.

The man is on his way to the hospital, said Muskogee County Sheriff Charles Pearson.

Muskogee County deputies were called to assist Warner police.

“When deputies arrived, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the leg,” Pearson said.
