BREAKING NEWS: Manhunt for Council Hill man ends in capture

A Council Hill fugitive was arrested late Thursday night at a McIntosh County motel.
Clinton Riley Potts, 38, was found at approximately 9:30 p.m. in a motel off Interstate 40 about five miles east of Checotah, said Muskogee County Sheriff Charles Pearson.
Officers traced Potts to the motel and immediately entered the room, Pearson said.
“He laid down on the ground and we took him into custody and he was transported back to McIntosh County Jail,” said Darrin Berry of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
Potts had drugs and items for making them were found at the scene, officers said.
A manhunt issued by the McIntosh County Sheriff’s Office began about a week ago to find Potts.
He currently faces eight felony charges, including:
• Assault by use of a firearm.
• Possession of a firearm.
• Two counts of theft of a vehicle.
• Two counts of possession of a stolen vehicle.
• Second-degree burglary.
• Threatening to perform a violent act.
