Published June 15, 2009 08:45 pm - The Murries celebrate their 50th anniversary John and Norma (Avants) Murrie will be honored Sunday, June 21, 2009, for their 50th anniversary. They were married June 21, 1959, at Lawrence Street Baptist Church, 2207 Lawrence St., where the reception will be held at 1 p.m. following church services and potluck lunch.
It is hosted by their children, Sallie and husband Jeff Pawley, and Joel and wife Kim Murrie; and grandchildren Kendall and husband David Siedlik, Adam Murrie and fiancee Nichole, Kellie Murrie, Jordan Murrie and Jeff Pawley II. Great-grandsons are Keilton and Matic Siedlik. John retired from Corning Glass Works. Norma is employed at Lowe’s. Family and friends are invited. The couple requests no gifts.
