Beanes celebrate 60 years of wedded bliss

— William P. (Bill) Beane and Mary Lou Lemley Beane of Fort Gibson this month celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple married Sunday, May 10, 1953, at Rose Hill Baptist Church in DeQueen, Arkansas, with the Rev. C.L. Roberts officiating.

They have three children: Beverly McLemore and her husband Richard of Dripping Springs, Texas; Pamela Tappan and her husband Mike of Denton, Texas; and William Beane Jr. and wife Stacye of Austin, Texas. They have seven grandchildren: Erika McLemore of Dallas; Derek McLemore of Dripping Springs, Texas; Kaleigh Beane of Austin, Texas; William Beane III of Austin, Texas and now attending NSU in Tahlequah; Mika Tappan Potts and husband Billie of Bells, Texas; Melissa Tappan and Coltin Tappan, both of Denison, Texas; and three great-grandchildren: Zakary and Lara Potts of Bells, Texas; and Canon Tappan of Denison, Texas.

Bill retired after 30 years with Oklahoma Natural Gas Company and Mary Lou retired after 19 years with Farm Credit Services.
