Mackey-Gentry to wed in Church of Christ

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Mackey of Muskogee and Annette Cummings and Darryl Gentry Sr. of Fort Worth, Texas, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their children Shayla Mackey and Darryl Gentry Jr.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of William Syrus and the late Ruth Doss-Syrus of Muskogee; and Irene Grant of Kansas City, Mo.; and granddaughter of Grace and the late Raymond Mackey Sr. of Coweta.

Mackey is a graduate of Muskogee High School and of Oklahoma State University. She is employed with the Veterans Benefits Administration.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Mr. J.C. and Luella Cummings of Fort Worth, Texas; and Odis Darnell and the late Cora Gentry of Fort Worth, Texas.    Gentry is a graduate of O.D. Wyatt High School in Fort Worth, Texas. He served in the military and earned his Bachelor’s from American Military University. He is a teacher and coach with the Fort Worth School District.

The wedding is set for 5 p.m. Saturday May 3, 2014, at the Westside Church of Christ in Muskogee, with Donald Cherry officiating.
