Mashburns marry in outdoor ceremony


— Leah Sawyer of Edmond, Oklahoma, and De Mashburn of Norman, Oklahoma, were married Saturday, October 5, 2013, at an outdoor wedding in Muskogee, Oklahoma with Rev. Roger Pratt, uncle of the groom, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Don and Teri Sawyer, of Muskogee. Leah  is the granddaughter of Don and Beverly Sawyer of Elmira, N.Y.; Ray and Delores Metzger of Muskogee; and the late JW Salmon.

The groom is the son of Steve and Kela Mashburn, of Muskogee. De is the grandson of the late James and Opal Webster and the late Dale and Emma Mashburn.

Lacey Sawyer, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kari Holder, Lindsay Carbone, Jenny Fisher, and Sally Abernathy.

Ryan Perkins served as best man.  Groomsmen were Danny Smith Jr., brother of the groom, Matt Stotts, Marcus Rorabaugh, and Roy Crank.

Autumn Smith, niece of the groom, and Jacee Sawyer, niece of the bride, were both guest book attendants and flower girls.

James Sawyer, brother of the bride, and Alex Mehlinger served as ushers.

The bride and groom are teachers for Norman Public Schools and will be taking a delayed honeymoon after the school year is completed. They reside in Norman, Oklahoma.
