Be holiday safe

Be safe on the Fourth. Use common sense. Fireworks, if misused or used thoughtlessly, can lead to personal injury or property damage. Those things happen every year.
So protect yourself and your family by being sensible. Supervise children using fireworks, and set off fireworks only where there is adequate room to do so safely. Give discharged fireworks time to cool before picking them up, and clean up after yourself. Don’t leave it to someone else to clean up the mess you make.
Remember the city of Muskogee has a fireworks ordinance that limits the time fireworks can be legally discharged — from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on July 4. And have fun — but foremost, be safe.
