Storm can’t keep you from giving

— Please remember those in need as you finish — or start — your Christmas shopping.

There are people — many of them your neighbors — that need your help to make this time of year just a little bit better.

Also, please remember that the Salvation Army’s Red Kettles may just appear during the Christmas shopping season, but donations are used year-round.

The Salvation Army’s campaign hit a snag when Mother Nature snowed on its parade.

Many people were forced to stay indoors and are just now catching up on their shopping. And donations to the Salvation Army are down as a result.

This community is capable of great things.

We see it every year.

When called upon, you respond.

The Muskogee Police Department announced it collected $1,600 and a mound of toys during its Camping for Kids campaign.

That’s wonderful.

Many children will know that someone cares about them this season.

Now, let’s show them we care all year long.
