Remember those who died for you

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” — John 15:13 King James Bible

— United States citizens do not always agree.

It seems as if we can’t agree on much these days.

But one thing seems unassailable. One thing seems to be true:

The United States of America would not be here if not for the men and women of our armed forces.

Without people willing to risk their lives to defend our country, the USA would not exist.

Memorial Day weekend is upon us.

We commemorate those brave souls who felt the reward of a free nation was greater than the risk of losing their lives.

All the men and women who have fought for this country deserve our praise and our thanks.

Those who paid the ultimate sacrifice by laying down their lives for us also deserve our eternal respect.

There are those among us who do not like everything about the USA.

They have the freedom to voice that displeasure because many people died for their right to live in a country where dissent is not only allowed but welcomed as a pillar of democracy.

While you are enjoying your weekend or time with your family, take time to remember why you live in the greatest country on the planet.

The everyday freedoms that you enjoy are paid for with the souls of those who loved their country more than their lives.

God Bless America.
