Our city needs good people to speak up and help the Muskgoee Community Anti-Drug Network.
Muskogee CAN is looking for people who want to stop drug abuse to attend a meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Muskogee Nonprofit Resource Center.
“We want people who have been impacted personally by substance abuse and those who want to help stop it,” said Lindsey Roberts, the resource center's Regional Prevention Coordination director.
Muskogee CAN has had other meetings such as this in the past.
They have had about 20 people attend the meetings. Many of those were required to attend as part of their job.
That leaves a lot of room for real people — people who have been affected by drug or alcohol abuse.
Those are the people Muskogee CAN needs at the meeting.
Real people can present the problem in a way that only they can.
They can tell real-life stories and give a much clearer picture of the problem in Muskogee.
Muskogee CAN has done a good job. The organization has helped with prescription drug dropoff points in the area.
But, now they need your help.
If you have been affected by drug or alcohol abuse or if you want to help, now’s your chance.
