Clean up city and have fun at Trash Crawl

Cleaning up Muskogee has never been so fun.

Action in Muskogee’s Clean and Beautiful committee is hosting the city’s first “Trash Crawl” from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The goal is to clean up Muskogee and have fun while doing it.

The event features a scavenger hunt and many prizes.

Committee member and former Mayor Wren Stratton said the idea is to help the city make a better first impression, which will help with tax revenues and have an economic impact.

It’s no secret Muskogee can be viewed as a junky town in some parts. Most of Muskogee is beautiful, and it’s sad that what stands out is the negative. Unfortunately, that’s human nature.

This is a chance to change that image.

Let’s be honest. Cleaning up is not a fun task. It’s a lot easier to complain about how dirty Muskogee is instead of actually doing something about it.

But making it a fun event, with a chance to win prizes? Well, there’s something to get excited about.

This is a unique event, and AIM committee members deserve applause for cleaning up Muskogee and coordinating the event.

We encourage everyone to attend and make this event a success.
