Be proud of Irving students

— Irving Elementary students got a chance to strut their stuff to dozens of educators.

Irving, which has offered “The Leader in Me” program for four years, was one of two model schools educators visited recently. The other was in Bixby. “The Leader in Me” is part of the FranklinCovey leadership program.

During the visit, Irving students led the visitors to different areas, where they demonstrated each habit.

Irving music teacher Melissa Agee said she has seen how the program has changed Irving over the past four years. She said many students are quoting the habits to each other.

Muskogee should be proud of Irving Elementary’s students, faculty and staff. For the school to be a model school reflects greatly on them.

Whittier and Cherokee Elementary Schools received grants earlier this year to use the program at their schools.

We look forward to more success from Muskogee Public Schools in this area.
