Bowl to help Junior Achievement

By sponsoring a bowling lane, you or your company can help local students learn about finances, how business works and preparing for the workplace.

Muskogee Junior Achievement will raise money from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday through their Safari Bowl at Green Country Lanes.

It is $500 for a five-person team to sponsor a lane. Price includes shoes and T-shirts.

JA volunteers go into area schools to teach students skills to help them succeed in the future.

The bowling evening is one of two fundraisers for Muskogee JA each year. The restaurant crawl in the fall is the second.

“For every $30, a Muskogee student is sponsored,” said Brian Jackson, development manager for Junior Achievement of Oklahoma.

The annual event will also include a costume contest, door prizes, and hamburgers made at the grill in Green Country Lanes, Jackson said.

If you support teaching young people both the realities of financial life and the challenges and opportunities of the workplace, consider supporting this event.

You’ll be funding volunteers to reach and teach young people. As a bonus, you and your team can have a great evening of food and fun on the bowling lane.

“It’s all about the future of Muskogee,” Jackson said.

If you participate, you will help shape that future.
