Christy Lanham, 18, a senior at Fort Gibson High School, said picking her dress for prom has never been easier.
“I just want to have fun this year,” Lanham said. “And designers have given us tons of options.”
Lanham donned a lilac hued, beaded ball gown with an intricate lace-up back called “Flirt” by Maggie Sottero.
“I like the way the dress fits,” she said. “I really like the shoes.”
Picking the perfect dress and making sure it’s unique is made easy with Crowning Moments in Muskogee.
“It’s great,” said Kathy Long, owner of Crowning Moments in Arrowhead Mall. “The kids have everything they need for prom right here. We have jewelry, shoes and handbags.”
Cortney Beach, 18, senior at Hilldale High School, said fun was the theme she’s sticking to this year.
“I wanted a dress that would let me move,” Beach said. “I had a long dress last year, so I am going with the short one this time.”
Beach, who modeled the 1980’s inspired black and white polka dot dress by Alyce, said she plans on going with girlfriends to the annual formal.
“I didn’t want to deal with a date,” she said. “I wanna finish my senior year with a bang.”
Austien Skupien, 16, sophomore at Muskogee High School, said she opted to sit this prom out because of an out-of-state boyfriend.
Skupien, who modeled the earth-tone, beaded animal print lined dress, also by Alyce, said she loved the different styles.
“I love the animal prints,” she said. “If I were going, this would be the dress I would pick.”
