Beta Sigma Phi

Omicron Eta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met in the home of Charlotte Miller for the April meeting.

Secretary Charlotte Watkins, in the absence of President Pat Miller, called the meeting to order with the opening ritual. The minutes were approved as read. The treasurer’s report was received from Laura Roets. New business discussed: Founders Day Dinner will be at 6 p.m. April 30 at Mahylon’s.

Officers elected for 2009-10 are: Alice Lowe, president; Diane Rounds, vice president; Donna Clark, recording secretary; and Laura Roets, treasurer.

Installation of pledges and officers will be at 2 p.m. May 3 in the home of Debbie Schrader. New officers’ terms begin in July. For the program, Roets, spoke problems she encounters while instructing college students and tools she uses to help them overcome insecurities and boast self-esteem.

The May meeting will be in the home of Charlotte Watkins on May 5. The communication chairperson will contact each member with further information or any changes.

Duplicate Bridge

Three Green Country Duplicate Bridge Club games are offered each week at the Kiwanis Senior Citizens Center, 119 Spaulding.

Games begin at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Newcomers are welcome at all games. Call Mary Smith at 682-2605 for information about the Monday or Friday games. For the Wednesday game, call Velma Sweet at 682-2848.

• April 3: Mary Smith and Ralph Parker, first; Bonnie Jennings and Jance Lopes, second; Flo DeBartolo and Linda Stearns, third; Joan Chapman and Fran Martin, fourth.
