Jon Mark Tiger of Eufaula awarded Best of Show
Jon Mark Tiger of Eufaula received Best of Show for his graphic work titled “Dance for the New Corn” at the opening of the Competitive Art Show Sunday at the Five Civilized Tribes Museum.
Honors also were given to the following:
• Grand Heritage Award to Max “Huckleberry” Beshear of Fort Gibson for his painting, “Mother Corn.”
• Southeastern Wildlife Award went to Dino Kingfisher of Salina for “Surprises,” painting in acrylic.
• Cecil Dick Master of Heritage Award went to Janet Smith for a watercolor titled “Booger Dancers.”

• Sonja K. Ayers of Muldrow, “Come Here Often?” in oil, first.
• Gary Allen of Tulsa, “Crucifixion,” oil, second.
• Tony Tiger of Tahlequah, “Morningstar,” a collage with acrylic on panel, third.
• Marcus Scott of Oklahoma City for “Stickball Morning,” oil painting; Anita Caldwell Jackson of McAlester, “Out of the Fire,” acrylic and feathers; Max “Huckleberry” Beshears of Fort Gibson, acrylic on mat board, “Wolf Caller;” and Clayburn Beshears of Fort Gibson, “Cherokee Girls Tribal Life,” an oil on canvas, honorable mention.
Graphics division, including pencil, colored pencil, or graphite, winners:
• Ron Tanyan, pencil drawing, “Preparing for the Dance,” first.
• Sonja K. Ayers of Muldrow, work in pastel, “Pearl Earring,” second.
