Thanks to Oklahoma Department of Libraries and the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Literacy Department at the Muskogee Public Library is pleased to announce that we will soon be offering a new program called Get Reading Oklahoma.
There are two series in Get Reading Oklahoma, TV411 and GED Connection.
TV411 is an Emmy award-winning series consisting of 30 half-hour programs. It is a TV series made for adults who want help with their reading, writing and math skills. The show uses every day events as a chance to learn.
GED Connection is a TV series that will help you prepare for the GED exam. GED Connection and TV411 will air on OETA in June and July. You can see each show online at www.GetReadingOklahoma.org.
If you are an adult needing help with your reading, writing, and math skills or if you need help preparing for the GED exam, then Get Reading Oklahoma can help you.
The Literacy Department at the Muskogee Public Library is excited to be able to offer these programs. We need tutors for this program as well as our ongoing adult literacy and ESL programs.
If you know of an adult who might be interested in the programs or if you are interested in being a tutor for the Get Reading Oklahoma program or our ongoing literacy programs call Penny Chastain, Adult Literacy coordinator, Muskogee Public Library at 682-6657, Ext. 246.
