Boy Scouts host back-to-school party

— Neosho District, Boy Scouts of America in conjunction with the Muskogee Chamber of Commerce and the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame will host a Back-to-School Celebration to recognize scouts that have taken part in the Okie from Muskogee Guitar Hunt this summer.
The Back-to-School Celebration will be at 2 p.m. today at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, 401 S. Third St. Area scouts and those interested in being scouts are invited to an afternoon of fun, games, singing and refreshments. Scouts also will participate in a “Name the Cowboy” contest for the cowboy holding the guitar at 1416 W. Okmulgee Ave., and receive the Guitar Hunt patch for sussully completing the hunt.
Scouts from all over the state have desended upon the streets of Muskogee looking for the 29 guitars that are on display. It is estimated 300 Scouts have taken part.
