Group to meet, greet at casino before ceremony

By Travina Coleman
Phoenix Staff Writer

The All-American Rejects are in Muskogee for the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame awards ceremony, where they will accept the Rising Star award.

The Stillwater-based band has climbed charts with hits like “Dirty Little Secret” and “Move Along,” a song being considered for the Official Oklahoma Rock Song.

AAR also is ready to release its newest album, “When The World Comes Down,” Nov. 18.

Beth Seim, director for the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, said the band’s songs represent real life.

“I love it because their music is about real situations,” she said. “They will be performing for the grand finale at the ceremony and concert.”

But before they rock Muskogee Civic Center, they are taking a moment from their hectic touring schedule to meet the fans.

The All-American Meet and Greet is from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at Creek Nation Casino-Muscogee.

During the event, fans of all ages will have the chance to stop in under the tent and get an autograph.

Tim Cummings, graphic artist and design specialist for Creek Nation Casino-Muscogee, said the meet and greet should be great.

“We have a massive tent rented outside,” he said. “That’s where the band will set up. We are selling hot dogs and glow sticks. It will be fun.”

Farrell Kaaihue, general manager for the Creek Nation Casino-Muscogee, said he has no idea how many people to expect.

“Zach Swon and Friends will perform on a huge stage out there,” Kaaihue said. “K-HITS will do a live radio remote. And we have two pair of VIP tickets to the show on Wednesday that will go in a drawing.”

The VIP tickets include good floor seats and invitation to the VIP buffet reception.

If you want to try and win VIP tickets to the 12th annual Induction Ceremony and Concert presented by the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, all you have to do is show up at Creek Nation Casino-Muscogee for the meet and greet, 7 p.m. Tuesday.
