Chin up: Positive attitude can help you heal Murphy said people who have negative outlooks tend to internalize problems.
“So their gastric acid secretion goes up and they get stomach ulcers,” he said. “They’re stressing and they get higher blood pressure and they get heart disease problems, and they may overeat to deal with trouble.” People who tend to keep a positive outlook are going to be generally healthier, Murphy said, and also heal better when they suffer an injury. “Also, physical exercise is really good,” he said. “You can make yourself feel a lot better, because you are externalizing physical stresses as you get the adrenaline going.
