Christmas angel ornament to benefit center
Thanks to Louise Bishop, the 35th annual Christmas Home Tour Committee is presenting its first Christmas ornament.
Bishop, a local artist inspired the committee when they heard about the ornament she painted for the White House Christmas tree last year.
So when Donna Taylor, president of the Christmas Home Tour, asked Bishop if she could share her design to help raise dollars for the Kelly B. Todd Cerebral Palsy and Neuro-muscular Center, she agreed. Since the White House ornament was large, it required a large design — a design too large for a regular ornament, so Louise painted only the Christmas angel from the original design.
“Look at her,” said Betty Honea, committee member. She is a lovely Christmas angel holding a Christmas tree.”
Bishop is known for her angel designs and if you look around you will see them hanging around Muskogee. But this year, her Christmas angel is available for your Christmas tree, or purchased to share with others. The 3 1/2-inch white glass ornament may be purchased at the following locations for $15 each: The Kelly B. Todd Center, Bebb’s Flowers, Bella Mea’s, Cagle’s Flowers and Gifts, I’m a Basket Case, Just Imagine Gifts and Home D้cor, Rustic Elegance, Studio III and Day Spa, and Viva’s.
This year’s Christmas Home Tour will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 5 and 6. Tickets are $8. Homes on the tour include:
Bobby and Theresa Brown, 2319 N. Country Club Road.
Doug and Ronia Davison, 3110 North St.
Steve and Sharla Radanovich, 2704 Buford.
Tim and Debbie Greener, 1313 Out of Bounds Drive.
Three Rivers Health Center, 1001 S. 41st Street East.
“We truly appreciate Louise’s generosity and willingness to help us raise funds that benefit The Kelly B. Todd Center,” Taylor said. “We know everyone will want to hang one of her Christmas angels on their tree this year.”
