Muskogee New Friends

Upcoming events:

• Monday — Happy Quilters will meet at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Methodist. If you have a project to work on, please bring it, we will make a decision concerning our pattern for this year’s quilt. There will be a Boomarang hamburger run at noon.

• Jan. 24 — Cowboy’s buffet lunch and games. Everyone knows the requirements, make reservations; cancel if need be or pay; be there on time.

Muskogee County Retired Educators

Muskogee County Retired Educators will meet at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Muskogee Art Guild, 315 Court.

The Genealogy Department at the Muskogee Library will present the program. Shirley Miller will give the devotion, and Jean Williams will provide refreshments.

Come join your fellow educators in fellowship.

Daughters of the American Revolution

The Muskogee Indian Territory Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the DAR meeting room in the Lucy Peters Room at Bacone College Campus.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. Business meeting at 1 p.m.

There will be a board meeting at 10:30 a.m.

The program will be given by Sue Tolbert on the one-room schoolhouse.

DAR was founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a non-political Volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America’s future through better education for children. Visitors welcome.

Muskogee Garden Club

The Muskogee Garden Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Kiwanis Senior Citizens Center, 110 Spaulding Blvd.

Coffee and social time will precede the business meeting and program. Hostesses are Jan Ward, Jon Stoodley and Clara Sheffield.

Program for the meeting will be a round-table discussion — “Plants Etcetera,” with Martha Stoodley facilitating.

There also will be a discussion of the 2014 Daffodil Day Project, scheduled for March 29 at the Thomas Foreman Home.
