MPL prepares for the holidays

— Muskogee Public Library has yet another month of excitement as it prepares for the holidays this November.

The Children’s Department is still hosting story time each Wednesday for preschool aged children starting at 10 a.m.:

• Children ages 0-12 months from 10 to10:15 a.m.

• Children ages 1 to 3 from 10:25 to 10:40 a.m.

• Children ages 3 to 5 years from 10:45 to 11 a.m.

Wednesday’s after-school craft time for children ages 5-12 is set for 4 p.m.

The Children’s Department also has two parties for 5-12 year olds. Girls can come dressed as their favorite princesses for a princess tea and craft party from 4 to 5 p.m. Nov. 8.

Boys will have the chance to save the day when they come dressed up as super heroes, from 4 to 5 p.m. Nov. 13. There will be games and other activities as well as snacks.

The Teen Zone is teaming up with Adult Services on Nov. 3 to stamp out boredom with international games day in the Grant Foreman Meeting Room from noon to 5 p.m.  

There will also be two crocheting classes this month. The adult class is scheduled from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 8. The teen class hooks up from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 19 in the Southeast Room. With winter on the way, this is the perfect time to get started on hats and mittens to keep you warm.

The Teen Zone is also hosting a paper craft night from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 6.

This month’s Third Thursday Book Club meets at at 7 p.m. Nov. 15 at Las Fuentes restaurant in Arrowhead Mall. The book “The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror” by Christopher Moore sets the mood and mayhem. Dinner is Dutch treat.
