Family Weekend set for NSU

TAHLEQUAH — Missing mom is normal — no matter what your age, and chances are pretty high that she misses her student just as much, if not more, which is exactly why NSU has Family Weekend 2013 planned Sept.19-21 for students, mom, dad, siblings, grandparents and even aunts and uncles.

“Please tell me you have put Family Weekend on your calendar in BOLD letters, in ink,” said Suzanne Myers, NSU Parent Program Coordinator, in a media release. “We have so many activities and events scheduled that you must be able to find something that will appeal to you and your family members.”

There is an array of events scheduled for parents to do; both with their children, and without.

Family Weekend 2013 has been planned with everyone in mind. There will be a lot to do and see while spending time with family in Tahlequah. For a list of events, go to

As a member of the NSU Parent Association, there are discounts offered on several of the events, and on hotel stays. When booking reservations be sure to mention membership and present the Parent Association ID card at check in. Participating hotels include the Best Western, Comfort Inn & Suites and Holiday Inn Express.
