Redo crowned Miss Langston University


— LANGSTON — Jasmine Denise Redo, a junior broadcast journalism major from Muskogee, was crowned the 67th holder of the coveted Miss Langston University title during a pageant held recently on the campus in Langston. The win makes her eligible to compete in the Miss Oklahoma pageant coming up in June.

“It's a dream come true and a chance to become a part of something bigger that I could have ever imagined,” said Redo, who was selected from among four contestants vying for the crown, in a media release.

During the talent segment of the pageant, she performed a liturgical dance to Alicia Keys' song, “Brand New Me.”

Redo is currently vice president of the Langston University Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists, a member of The Hype dance team and the LU Pre-Alumni Council. She is also a former cheerleader and member of the Golden Feline Dance Line.

She graduated from Muskogee High is 2010.
