Cloggers win big at competitions

— Lisa Logan, owner/director of Show Biz Dance Studio in Muskogee, recently announced the achievements of one of her groups taught and choreographed by Dance Instructor Kira Jobe at recent competitions.

The 16-member group competed with a clog dance number to “Welcome To The Jungle” at Talent On Parade Competition Regional Finals at Rose State College in Oklahoma City in March. At that competition the group was honored with the following awards:

• Elite top first place in the Line Group Clog Teen/Senior Division.

• Fourth place in the overall high points award in the Teen/Senior Clog Division.

The group qualified for National Finals, which were held in June at the Tulsa Convention Center in June.

At the national level with more than 1,500 acts competing, the group won:

• A top first place trophy in the Teen/Senior Line Clog category

•Sixth place overall high points award in the Teen/Senior Division.

 In previous years, this group has attended regional and nationals with Stage One, Odyssey Dance Competition and Rainbow Dance Competition and won first place and “overalls” in jazz, tap and clog and musical theater.
