Program seeks volunteer drivers

— The RSVP program for seniors 55 and over in Muskogee operates the We Care Transportation Program through a grant from the Muskogee Foundation. RSVP volunteer drivers in the We Care Transportation Program take seniors to medical appointments, pharmacies, and grocery stores. To request a ride or to volunteer, contact Faye Waits at (918) 683-1578.

RSVP volunteers are reimbursed for their mileage. They also receive an orientation to the program, a handbook, an RSVP polo shirt, a quarterly newsletter, and an invitation to the RSVP annual banquet.

Research shows volunteers are healthier, happier and live longer. Other RSVP volunteer opportunities are available. For more information call Andreka Pace or Annalee Webb at (918) 683-1578.
