Fort Gibson High School sophomore Lacey Gotcher wants to make a difference. So she recently took on a project to help homeless teenagers in America.
Gotcher has partnered with Aeropostale to kick off a drive called “Teens for Jeans.”
Through Feb. 10, Gotcher is asking for donatations of old jeans. All sizes, big and small, are requested, and can be dropped off at Fort Gibson Middle School and Fort Gibson High School. Donations also will be accepted at the Great American Cookie Company at Arrowhead Mall, where a free cookie will be given for a donation.
All the jeans will be donated to a local charity or shelter.
There are 1.7 million teens homeless in the USA, and their top request at homeless shelters is jeans, according to a media release.
