July 11 — General Meeting. Meet at Grandview Baptist Church, 3608 S. Cherokee Drive. Josie Fullen, a longtime member, will present the program on “The Story of our National Flag.” Coffee and refreshments will be served at 9:30 a.m. prior to the meeting and the program will take place at 10 a.m. Dues are payable at this meeting.

July 14 — Happy Quilters will meet at 10 a.m. at Grandview Baptist Church, 3608 S. Cherokee Drive. Information: Virginia Garrison, (918) 686-0277.

July 16 — IHOP Brunch at 10 a.m., then on to Pat Adams’ for dominoes. Information: Adams, (918) 687-5739 or (918) 680-1426. NARFE

The Muskogee Chapter of the National Association of Retired and Current Federal Employees will meet at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Kiwanis Senior Citizens Center, 119 Spaulding Blvd. Guest speaker will be John Timothy, director of Ataloa Lodge museum at Bacone College.

A door prize will be drawn. All federal employees, members, and guests are invited.

Muskogee County Historical Society

The Muskogee County Historical Society will have its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Five Civilized Tribes Museum, 1101 Honor Heights Drive. The program will include a tour of the museum and viewing of the Masters Art Show. Although lunch will be on your own, those who want to eat lunch at the Amish Restaurant will meet at 11:30 a.m. Visitors are welcome.

Green Country Duplicate Bridge

Green Country Duplicate Bridge meets each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 12:30 p.m. at the Kiwanis Senior Citizens Center. All bridge players are welcome. Winners for June 25 were Rene Tyrrell and Bill Porter, first; Flora DeBartolo and Sally French, second. Carol Ketchum and Joan Chapman were first on June 27; Betty Jordan and Jane Lopes, second; Ann Kent and Ruth Sharpe, third. June 30, Joan Chapman and Fran Martin were first; Flora DeBartolo and Linda Stearns tied with Ruth Sharpe and Betty Jordan for second place. The club will sponsor a charity pizza party at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 11, for the local food pantry. Come with your partner and have fun. Cost will be $5 plus two non-perishable items for the food pantry. They especially need rice, cereal, peanut butter, and spaghetti sauce.
