Dance studio nabs several awards

Lisa Logan, owner/director of Show Biz Dance Studio in Muskogee, recently announced the achievements of one of her groups taught and choreographed by dance instructor Laura Hazen at recent competitions.

The 11-member group competed competed in the Jazz category to the song “Ain't Nothing Wrong” at Talent On Parade Competition Regional Finals at Rose State College in Oklahoma City in March. At that competition the group was honored with the following awards:

• Elite Top First trophy in the Senior Age Division for Large Group/Jazz Dance

• Third place in overall high points in the Senior Division.

The group qualified for National Finals, which were held in June at the Tulsa Convention Center.

At the national level with more than 1,000 acts competing, the group won:

• A top first place trophy.

• Fifth place overall high points award in the Senior Large Group/ Jazz Division.

In previous years, this group has attended regional and national competitions with Stage One Dance Competition, Star Power Dance Competition, Odyssey Dance Competition and Rainbow Dance Competition and won first place and “overalls” in jazz, tap, lyrical ballet, clog and musical theater.
