Re-enactors sought for Bass Reeves Tour, heritage festival

— The Bass Reeves Legacy Lawman and Outlaw Tour and Muskogee Heritage Days Festival is seeking individuals to be part of a historical re-enactment group.

Those who wish to portray interesting characters in Oklahoma and Muskogee history are encouraged to participate. This cultural celebration is seeking individuals of European, African, Hispanic, Asian and other cultures to bring to life Oklahoma and Territorial history of the 1800s and 1900s — lawmen, outlaws, townspeople, clergy, merchants, farmers, cattlemen, tribal nations, citizens, frontiersmen, soldiers (Union and Confederate), and entertainers (storytellers, musicians, etc.) of all ages.

First call for casting is July 23.

The Bass Reeves Legacy Lawman and Outlaw Tour and the Muskogee Heritage Days Festival are annual events, co-sponsored by Three Rivers Museum and Downtown Muskogee Inc. They are scheduled for Oct. 4-5 this year.
