FG Christian Academy students fare well at student competition

— Four Fort Gibson Christian Academy students competed recently in the Accelerated Christian Education Regional Convention in Springfield, Mo.

Those four students — Jodi Sampson, Wyatt Metzger, Kimberlin Honeycutt, and Caleb Coiner — competed against students from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri.

Sampson placed first in the female Archery Traditional Bow Division. Coiner, of Fort Gibson, placed second in Male Limited Free Style Archery and fourth in Male 800 Meter Run. Metzger, of Braggs, placed third in Character Trait Color Photography. Honeycutt placed second in Monochromatic Scenic Photo, third in Monochromatic Plant & Animal Photo, fifth in Computer Enhanced Color Photo and Sixth in Special Effects Color Photo.

All four of the FGCA students qualified in at least one area of competition for the International Student Competition, to be held in May in Warrensburg, Mo.

Students are raising funds to attend the International event.

A rummage sale will be 9 a.m. to noon today at First Free Will Baptist Church of Fort Gibson, 1487 E. Poplar.
