Area students compete in keyboard festival

— Area students recently participated in the Baptist Keyboard Festival sponsored by the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma. The festival was held at South Tulsa Baptist Church in Tulsa. There were five categories in which the students participated.

Receiving a superior rating in Category 1 were Landren Martin, Trenten Martin, John Mark Jardine, Abby Mix, Ethan Frazier, and Ricky Schell. Russell Bell made an excellent rating in Category 1.

Earning a superior rating in Category II were Anna Mix, Jeramy Hunter, Camryn Runyan, Rachel Throgmorton, Sidnei Schell, and Lydia Harlin.

Superior ratings were earned by Denise Kimball, David Harlin, and Brenden Martin in Category III.

Receiving a superior rating in Category IV were Laura Jardine, Rebekah Harlin, Heidi Schell, and Annie Lindsay.

Nathan Harlin received a superior rating in Category V.

Laura Jardine also received a superior rating in organ.

The students in Category IV and V are now eligible to participate in the State Keyboard Festival, which will be held on Feb. 23 at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee.

Teachers participating were Bethany Harlin, Bob Bell, and Nancy Shelton from Muskogee, and Teresa Pointer from Wagoner.
