The Muskogee Public Library will join hundreds of libraries throughout the country Saturday for the sixth annual celebration of gaming in libraries — International Games Day @ Your Library. Like so many other libraries across the country and around the world, MPL will offer special gaming programs and events suitable for the whole family.
“Libraries are becoming family destinations and are continuously offering new formats and innovative programs and services that educate, entertain and expand interaction with their users,” Adult Program Coordinator Jeremy Jones said in a media release. “Gaming is yet another example of how libraries are becoming more than just educational resources for the communities that they serve. They are also places where users of all ages are welcome to have fun together.”
The Muskogee Public Library will have a “Super Smash Brothers” tournament, “Mario Kart” tournament, open times for video games and board games, and much more. The fun starts at 1 p.m.
International Games Day @ Your Library is a national initiative supported by the American Library Association.
