Cadets exhibit core values

— Muskogee High School students Miranda Wood, left, Sergio Jordan, Arial Hobson and Andy Ochoa paint curbs at Greenleaf State Park as part of a community service event. More than 50 cadets from Muskogee High School’s JROTC unit spent a recent weekend at Greenleaf State Park living “service before self,” one of the Core Values that the unit’s curriculum emphasizes. The cadets painted parking lots, cleaned fire pits and cleaned several areas of the state park as part of its enormous community service program. Last year the cadets contributed more than 1,300 hours of service to the Muskogee Community and surrounding area and have increased its goal to more than 2,000 hours this school year.
