Green Country Duplicate Bridge

Green Country Duplicate Bridge meets at 12:30 p.m. each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Kiwanis Senior Citizens Center, 119 Spaulding Blvd. Newcomers are welcome. If you are interested in playing or learning to play duplicate bridge, call Ann Kent at (918) 682-3098, Mary Smith at (918) 682-2605, or Sandy Cole at (918) 684-9002.

• Oct. 9 — Doris Taylor and Mary Beyers, first; Mary Hoover and Minnie Sheffield, second.

• Oct. 11 — Joan Chapman and Carol Ketchum, first; Ralph Parker and Mary Smith, second; Werner Wagner and Betty Jordan, third; and Ann Kuykendall and Ann Kent, fourth.

• Oct. 14 — Ruth Sharpe and Betty Jordan, first; and Fran Martin and Joan Chapman, second.

Dave Murdock, Ann Kent, Linda Stearns, Norma Kolmer, Grace Sweeney, Becky Powers, Pam Coonce, Norma Jean Hildebrandt and Marialice Davis attended a sectional tournament at Claremore where Dave Murdock attained his life master rating. The club will have a Halloween party at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Kiwanis Center. All bridge players are invited to come and bring their favorite partner. Please call Mary or Ann at the above numbers if you plan to attend. STaC games will be played on Nov. 4 and 8 for silver points.

Books Sandwiched In

The Friends of the Library, Books Sandwiched In program will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Muskogee Public Library. Guest M.J. Van Deventer will discuss her new book on Jerome Tiger. A sandwich lunch will be served with drink and dessert for $3. Guests are welcome.

Toastmasters

Local Toastmasters club member Mary Ankrom took second place on Oct. 12 in the Division T&U Humorous Speech and Evaluation contest in Tulsa.

Toastmasters meet at 6:30 p.m. the first and third Tuesday at Three Rivers Museum, 220 Elgin.
