Toastmasters

Books Sandwiched In

On Nov. 13, the Friends of the Jim Lucas Checotah Public Library will host Buckboard Quilts historian Judy Howard. Howard will follow the custom of Oklahoma pioneers who stacked their finest quilts flat on the guest bed for all to admire. As she turns each quilt down, she will tell its story.

Lunch will be served by the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. and costs $3.

Books will be available for purchase and one member will win a copy.

New Century Club

The New Century Club will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the home of Carole Elliott. Connie Stout will review “FDR and the Jews” by Richard Breitman and Allan J. Lichtman.
