Brothers get ready to release first pro album

What do you get when you combine a ladies man and a former high school football star?

The Swon Brothers.

The Muskogee natives are releasing their first professionally recorded album, “Another Day,” on Jan. 16.

Colton Swon, 20, who also appeared on “American Idol,” and his brother, Zach, 23, traveled to Nashville where they met with some top producers and musicians.

“Those guys were like machines,” Colton said. “It was really unreal. We are just so excited to have them record with us.”

Some of those musicians the Swons recorded with also had recorded with country music stars Tim McGraw and George Strait.

“We want everyone to know this CD is different from the one’s we recorded at home,” he said. “They were good, but this is better.”

Right now the brothers are working on getting airplay for their songs.

“You can call 101.7 FM and request they play any of our songs,” Zach said.

When they aren’t recording music or working, they like watching movies or playing XBOX 360.

“I used to play football for Hilldale,” Colton said. “I loved it. So now I play on the 360, and I am very good. Sometimes, I wish people would read about me in the sports section instead of the music section.”

Zach said his brother was good at football in high school because he was so fast.

“The reason he was fast was because he was afraid they would kill him if they caught him,” Zach said.

Colton said his brother spends most of his time chasing girls.

“Most of my friends are girls,” he said. “And I am a ladies man. Other than that, music is all that I do. I take that back, I do like to watch movies.”

The last movie the brothers saw was “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”
