Literacy classes available at MPL

— Have you been thinking about improving your reading or math skills? Are you planning to take the GED or U.S. citizenship test? Would you like to improve your English speaking and writing skills?

If you are an adult, the Muskogee Public Library Adult Literacy Department offers individual and group classes for all these areas. The classes are free, confidential and open for enrollment year-round.

ESL classes are offered at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays and 6-8 p.m. Thursdays.

GED test preparation classes are 9-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

The next managed enrollment GED test preparation class will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m.  Mondays. Enrollment starts in August.

The U.S. citizenship test preparation class is 6-7 p.m. Thursdays.

Adults working on reading, spelling, comprehension and writing skills work one-to-one with a tutor. Tutors are needed for all areas.

For more information, to enroll in a class, or sign up to be a tutor, call Penny Chastain, Adult Literacy Coordinator of Muskogee Public Library, at (918) 682-6657, Ext. 246.
