Muskogee birthday celebration set Monday

— Downtown Muskogee, Inc. (DMI) will host a Muskogee birthday celebration from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday in the Arrowhead Mall Food Court. “Muskogee’s First Night” will commemorate Muskogee’s 141st birthday. Free birthday cake will be offered as long as it lasts.

The downtown organization will also offer a coloring page to kids and free Main Street Coloring Books while they last. A family fun scavenger hunt will take participants around downtown in a race to learn more about Muskogee’s history and architecture.

“There is so much interesting history hiding in our downtown and we challenge Muskogeeans to come out and find it,” DMI director Jonita Mullins said in a media release. “Bring the kids and enjoy a fun outing as a family.”

The winner of the Scavenger Hunt will take home a gift basket offered by downtown businesses.

Downtown Muskogee, Inc., also is asking Muskogeeans to stop by their table in the Mall Food Court and fill out a survey on what they would like to see happening in downtown for the coming year.

“We want to know the priorities of the community we serve,” Mullins says.
