Green Country Duplicate Bridge

Green Country Duplicate Bridge meets at 12:30 p.m. each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Kiwanis Senior Citizens Center, 119 Spaulding Blvd. Newcomers are welcome. If interested in playing or learning to play duplicate bridge contact Ann Kent at (918) 682-3098, Mary Smith at (918) 682-2605, or Sandy Cole at (918) 684-9002.

Recent winners are:

• Jan. 30 — Winners were Bill Porter and Alice Barham in first place, Marialice Davis and Grace Sweeney were second;

• Feb. 1 — Joan Chapman and Carol Chapman in first place, Dave Murdock and Norma Kolmer were second, and Betty Jordan and Jane Lopes were third;

• Feb. 4 — Norma Kolmer and Dave Murdock placed first, Bonnie Jennings and Ruth Sharpe were second.

Muskogee Area Quilters Guild

The February meeting for the Muskogee Area Quilters Guild will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Nash Hall at the First Presbyterian Church, 5th and Broadway. The program will be Cathy Jacobs from Quilt Styles Shop in Glenpool. She will be talking about quilting items and classes the shop offers. She will have items for sale. Come see what’s new in quilting. There will not be a learning opportunity at this meeting.

Delta Sigma Theta

2013 marks the “Centennial Celebration of Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service” for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Members of the Muskogee Alumnae Chapter have provided service to our community since September 1949. The newsletter lists activities commemorating this special year each month. Sons of Confederate Veterans

The Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp #307 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Muskogee Public Library, 801 W. Okmulgee Ave. The public is invited.

The historical program will be presented by George Fletcher. The program will cover the life and times of General Albert Pike. Descendants of Confederate soldiers are eligible for membership in the SVC.
